IT INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT ENGINEER | Up to £49,000 per annum dependent upon experience, plus company car

Hybrid role with office-based, village-based and home-working. Extensive travel to our villages based in the UK and Ireland will be required, along with some overnight stays. Out of hours working will also be required, as the need arises.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Head Office IT team as IT Infrastructure Project Engineer.

This role is responsible for the successful delivery of a diverse range of small to large-scale infrastructure projects across all our villages based in the UK and Ireland. Collaborating closely with the delivery, infrastructure and development teams, this role will ensure that projects are completed effectively and on time.

Other key responsibilities will include regularly partnering with vendors specialising in data cabling, optical fiber, and Wi-Fi infrastructure to proactively enhance existing systems and support project needs. The commissioning and setup of networking equipment, infrastructure hardware installations, and the maintenance and installation of data cabinets are also a requirement of the role.

This role emphasizes on-site delivery, encompassing implementation, configuration, surveying, and technical planning, with a focus on providing robust infrastructure for all site developments. Furthermore, the role will continuously refine infrastructure deployment processes, standards, and site documentation to optimise the infrastructure function.

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period (average of 37.5 hours per week). This role will be required to travel to our villages based in the UK and Ireland and will require some overnight stays. Out of hours working will also be required, as the need arises. This role will also work from the office once per month and there will be occasional opportunities to work from home.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Relevant professional or academic qualifications, e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in IT related studies (CCNA)
  • Previous Technical IT Experience with knowledge of a wide variety of technologies.
  • Proven track record implementing process, developing documentation, and engaging with 3rdparty resources
  • Further Training and certification in Technical IT, e.g. ICND, CCNA, CompTIA
  • Networking experience, e.g. Cisco, Firewalls, VPN and security technologies.
  • Good business and technical communication skills, including technical writing and drawings

Desirable requirements:

  • IT Infrastructure and Development Project Experience
  • Previously worked within a medium to large enterprise class organisation, following industry standards such as ITIL
