We’re looking for a Specialist Housing Partner (Independent Living Housing Officer) to join our Housing Services team covering our Meade Court and Orchard Court schemes.

About the role and person:

Always motivated to achieve brilliant standards of service, our Specialist Housing Partners (Independent Living Housing Officer) are a visible presence in their schemes, ensuring the effective management of tenancies and community.

This involves working closely with the allocations and lettings team to onboard new customers. Moving into a new scheme is an important life experience and your role will have a positive influence on our customer journey, helping them to maintain their independence for as long as possible. You’ll play a key role in encouraging resident engagement throughout their tenure in the scheme by building a sense of community.

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan, you’ll support customers if they fall into arrears, manage anti-social behaviour and resolve customer complaints effectively, using the appropriate legal remedies to ensure tenancies are ended efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements when necessary.

This is a role where you can make a real difference in helping our customers live independently for as long as possible. You’ll develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners and build strong community bonds to make moments that matter every day.

Salary

The spot salary for this post is £29,000 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

You'll also receive an additional £3,480 regional uplift.

What skills/behaviours do you need to be a Specialist Housing Partner (Independent Living Housing Officer)?

  • Previous experience of delivering a quality housing management service within a specialist or generic housing context and understanding of the various workstreams relevant to the management of temporary accommodation.
  • You will be a consistent high performer and be passionate about delivering high quality services while taking full ownership of your schemes.
  • Driven to work independently and as part of a team with previous experience of cross-departmental working.
  • An understanding of safeguarding within a housing context.
  • You will have excellent communication skills able to communicate with multiple stakeholders and multiple levels.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your resilience and ability to deal positively with change. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and thriving on challenges to achieve positive outcomes for customers while maintaining accuracy and high performance.
  • You will be flexible in your approach to work, including where you work (different schemes or attend training further afield) and when you work (sometimes we may need to work outside of usual office hours). 
  • Must have access to your own transport for business use (and appropriate license). 

This role is subject to a successful DBS check.

Location

The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to our Meade Court and Orchard Court schemes with occasional travel required to cover other schemes or for team meetings. This position is based in scheme.
