Contract Type: Full Time - Permanent

Salary: From £35,000 to £40,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Specific Hours: Monday - Friday (8:45AM- 5:30PM)

Senior Accountant

The Acorn Group is one of London and Kent’s most successful and ambitious property companies. Incorporating Acorn, Langford Russell and John Payne Estate Agents, we now have 39 offices and 10 Divisions. An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to work within our busy growing finance department, located at our Head Office in Bromley Kent. The role will involve overseeing the accounts for a subsidiary including all aspects of daily, month end processing and assisting in the annual audit.

The position requires previous experience within an accounts department and the ability to demonstrate the knowledge required to complete the daily and monthly responsibilities.

Previous accounts experience is a necessity. Candidates should be part-qualified or QBE; any experience within the property sector would be advantageous but not essential. The ideal candidate will be looking to progress their career. Training and support for accountancy qualifications will be available to the right candidate.

Key responsibilities:

Sales Ledger/Purchase ledger

  • Ensure income is correct and oversee month end billing process
  • Supplier management and ensure payments are signed off & processed
  • Cashflow management

Credit Control

  • Oversee credit control of subsidiary

Month End

  • Oversee month end close and produce subsidiary P&L to submit to group accounts
  • Accountable for month-end journals and adjustments
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Contributing to production of board management pack

Analysis

  • Producing KPIs and analysing monthly trends to advise senior management
  • Producing ADHOC reports to investigate anomalies and increase understanding of business processes
