Owned by AEG, one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world, The O2 sits within the AEG facilities arm of the business. Building Six, at The O2, originally designed as a 3000+ capacity nightclub, hosts corporate events from private parties, conferences, sit down dinners, film premiere and after parties as well as public events such as club nights, site wide events, live gaming events and televised events such as Comic Relief Red Nose Day.
We are looking for an Events Manager to manage a range of events predominantly within Building Six but also for assisting the venue managers within the main O2 arena.
You will work closely with the Operations, Corporate and Global Partnership Departments in providing the planning and management of events as allocated in Building Six, arena and in other event spaces throughout the site.
This post will have a key role in assisting the Venue Manager in the planning, administration and operational management of Building Six, its equipment, finances and staffing requirements, consistent with the goals and directives of the company.
You will assist the Venue Manger in driving commercial performance and ensuring that Building Six operates within budget whilst continually offering an outstanding service to all stakeholders to establish a good reputation within the industry.
We are looking for someone with substantial, relevant, operational experience in managing a range of events, within a comparable venue. You will have a proven track record of planning complex, high profile events with the ability to make decisions in a pressurised environment.
With experience of working with a local authority in relation to alcohol licensing and also in possession of a personal licence; you will be positive with a flexible attitude to work and a resilient personality.
We are looking for a positive team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment; along with strong communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You should also have good administrative skills and a high attention to detail.
If you have budgetary management experience; are a SIA holder or possess a health and safety background with a recognised H&S qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH, that would be an advantage.
