You will make sure any vessel maintenance and cleaning is carried out efficiently and effectively and also assist the OCSA when required with serving the customers on board and stocking the boat.

You will undergo on the job training as well as regular off-site training for up to two weeks away at a time, all travel, accommodation and sustenance while training off-site is provided for you.

You: We’re looking for people who are looking to develop their career in the maritime industry and progress through the ranks from Marine Trainee to Mate, then onto Master. We’re looking for ambitious and driven individuals who want to succeed.

If you enjoy working with the public, being outside on the river and being part of a fun and busy team then this could be the role for you!

You will be approachable, friendly and helpful, not only to the passengers on board but also to your colleagues. We expect you to deliver the same amazing experience to our customers at the end of your shift as you do at the start.

You will have GCSEs in Maths and English at a minimum grade C in order to be considered for this apprenticeship. If not, there is a requirement to obtain the equivalent Functional Skills Level 2 as part of the programme.

Where: You will spend your days on our vessels, which all leave from North Greenwich Pier, based near The O2 arena.

Important information: You will be based on our boats on the river and that means you will be on your feet for 10 hour shifts. We will provide you with a full uniform including warm clothing to defend against the British weather!
