Hours of work: 42 hours per week, Monday to Sunday plus five 3 week residentials over 2 years
MBNA Thames Clippers, part of AEG Europe, are London's leading River Bus service. Our fleet of high speed catamarans provide commuters and sightseers with a unique way to travel around the capital. We carry around 4 million passengers a year and employ 400 staff.
We are now looking for 3 Marine Trainee Apprentices to join our team and work towards the level 2 Diploma in Maritime Studies: Rivers, inland waterways and limited distances to sea qualification.
You will work on board our vessels as part of the Deck Crew, maintaining a high standard of customer care at all times. You will assist the Master in the safe operation of the vessel, whilst carrying out safe and efficient ship management duties; ensure that all passengers have purchased the correct ticket type for their journey and assist the Master and Mate in the cleaning and maintenance of the vessel.
You will also attend, as part of the qualification, five 3 week residentials in the Isle of Wight, over the course of 2 years, where you will carry out all the training you need in order to fulfil the apprenticeship. Full room and board is paid for.
We are looking for people who have a genuine desire to complete their Level 2 Diploma in Maritime Studies: Rivers, inland waterways and limited distances to sea qualification and want a career in the Maritime industry. You must participate fully in “on the job” training and also attend all off site training as per the training provider agreement.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build good internal and external relationships.
We will hold an assessment centre on 4th September 2017. If successfully short listed and invited along, you will be set a number of tasks so that we can see you in action, we are looking for strong communication skills, great team work and a friendly, helpful customer focused approach.
