Salary: £30,384.00 per annum, increasing to £35,745.00 on successful completion of 3 months’ probation

Hours of work: 42 hours per week, shift work, 4 days on 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off

Mechanical Engineer

MBNA Thames Clippers, part of AEG Europe, are the fastest and most frequent fleet on the river. As London's leading River Bus service, the fleet of high speed catamarans provide commuters and sightseers with a unique way to travel around the capital. We carry around 4 million passengers a year and employ over 320 staff.

We are now recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team who maintain and service the fleet of 15 Thames Clipper vessels.

You will service and maintain all mechanical systems on board Thames Clippers vessels and ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with the company and statutory legislation.

You will ensure all faults and works/repairs are logged and reported as appropriate and also ensure all Thames Clippers craft are kept in service wherever possible, by ensuring effective and efficient maintenance is carried out at all times by prioritizing maintenance where possible during quieter periods.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience of working on large diesel engines such as boats or lorries.

You must also have relevant experience of working in high pressure environment whilst maintaining high levels of safety and maintenance practices.

You need to be flexible and available to work varying shift patterns and also must enjoy working in a busy environment and be able to maintain patience and empathy even when under pressure.

A team worker with a positive attitude to work, you will be an effective communicator and able to manage and prioritise a varying workload.
