As part of any recruitment process, Akari Care collects and processes personal data
\r\nrelating to job applicants. Akari Care is committed to being transparent about how it
\r\ncollects and uses that data and to meeting its data protection obligations.
\r\n\r\n
What information do we collect?
\r\n\r\n
Akari Care collects a range of information about you. This includes:
\r\n- \r\n
- your name, address and contact details, including email address and telephone \r\n
number;
\r\n- \r\n
- details of your qualifications, skills, experience and employment history; \r\n
- information about your current level of remuneration; including benefit \r\n
entitlements;
\r\n- \r\n
- whether or not you have a disability for which the organisation needs to make \r\n
reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process; and
\r\n- \r\n
- information about your entitlement to work in the UK. \r\n
\r\n
Akari Care may collect this information in a variety of ways. For example, data might be
\r\ncontained in application forms, CV’s or resumes, obtained from your passport or other
\r\nidentity documents, or collected through interviews or other forms of consent.
\r\nWe may also collect personal data about you from third parties, such as references supplied
\r\nby former employers.
\r\nWe will seek information from third parties only once a job offer to you has been made and with your consent.
\r\nData will be stored in a range of places, including on your application record, in HR
\r\nmanagements systems, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and on other systems including
\r\nemail.
\r\n\r\n
Why does Akari Care process personal data?
\r\n\r\n
We need to process data to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract with
\r\nyou.
\r\nIn some cases, we may need to process data to ensure that we are complying with its legal
\r\nobligations. For example, it is mandatory to check a successful applicant’s eligibility to work
\r\nin the UK before employment starts.
\r\nAkari Care has a legitimate interest in processing personal data during the recruitment process and for keeping records of the process. Processing data from job applicants allows us to manage the recruitment process, assess a candidate’s suitability for employment and decide to whom to offer a job. We may also need to process data from job applicants to respond and defend against legal claims.
\r\nAkari Care may process special categories of data, such as information about ethnic origin to
\r\nmonitor recruitment statistics. We may also collect information about whether or not
\r\napplicants are disabled to make reasonable adjustments for candidates who have a
\r\ndisability.
\r\nWe process such information to carry out its obligations and exercise specific
\r\nrights in relation to employment.
\r\nAll applicants have the option to consent to Akari Care keeping the data and have the option
\r\nto withdraw consent at any time.
\r\n\r\n
Who has access to data?
\r\n\r\n
Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment exercise.
\r\n\r\n
This includes members of the HR and recruitment team, interviewers involved in the
\r\nrecruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy and IT staff if access to
\r\nthe data is necessary for the performance of their roles.
\r\nWe may share your personal data with third parties (Data Processors) who are GDPR
\r\ncompliant for the purposes of recruitment, for example the applicant tracking system. If
\r\nyour application is successful and we make an offer of employment we will then share your
\r\ndata with former employers to obtain references with your consent.
\r\n\r\n
How does Akari Care protect data?
\r\n\r\n
We take the security of your data seriously. We have internal policies and controls in place
\r\nto ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not
\r\naccessed except by our employees in the proper performance of their duties.
\r\n\r\n
For how long does Akari Care keep data?
\r\n\r\n
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, the organisation will hold your data on
\r\nfile for 12 (twelve) months after the end of the relevant recruitment process. If you agree
\r\nto allow us to keep your data on file we will hold your data for further 12 months for
\r\nconsideration of future employment opportunities.
\r\n\r\n
You can withdraw consent at any time.
\r\n\r\n
You will be asked when you submit your CV whether you give us consent to hold your
\r\ndetails for the full 12 months in order to be considered for other positions or not.
\r\nIf your application for employment is successful, personal data gathered during the
\r\nrecruitment process will be transferred to your Human Resources file (electronic and paper
\r\nbased) and retained during your employment.
\r\nThe periods for which your data will be held will be provided to you in a privacy notice.

Your rights
\r\n\r\n
As a data subject, you have a number of rights. You can:
\r\n- \r\n
- access and obtain a copy of your data on request; \r\n
- require the organisation to change incorrect or incomplete data; \r\n
- require the organisation to delete or stop processing your data, for example where \r\n
the data is no longer necessary for the purposes or processing; and
\r\n- \r\n
- object to the processing of your data where Akari Care is relying on its legitimate \r\n
interests as the legal ground for processing.

\r\ncan complain to the Information Commissioner.

What if you do not provide personal data?
\r\n\r\n
You are under no statutory obligation to provide data to Akari Care during the recruitment
\r\nprocess.
\r\nHowever, if you do not provide the information, we may not be able to process
\r\nyour application properly or at all.
