Cook

Here at Canterbury House we are looking for a committed Cook. We take pride in the quality of our residents’ meals and are looking for someone to take on this responsibility to ensure they have the best possible stay here.

We are looking for someone who is an experienced chef or has knowledge in managing a kitchen team to cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals. It is essential that we consider dietary requirements and cultural preferences. We are looking for someone who wants to be part of Akari Care and who will be proud to be a part of the family.

Akari Care will offer you development plans, never curb your enthusiasm and support you in every way. In return we will look to you to promote an atmosphere which enables our residents to be comfortable and thoroughly enjoy working at Canterbury house.

Canterbury House Nursing Home is situated in the seaside town of Rhyl, close to the splendour of the Snowdonia National Park.

We support residents with a dementia diagnosis in a comfortable, supportive and reassuring environment. The Home has three floors, with 52 single bedrooms, 45 of which are en-suite. There is an enclosed garden to the rear and ample parking to the front of the home. We benefit from a superb location, with beaches on one side and rolling countryside on the other.

We provide individualised care and support in a manner that we believe will best contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of our residents.

We aim to provide a holistic approach to the care we provide. We know how important diet is, so we serve nutritious and attractive food. We encourage residents to stay as active as possible, physically and mentally, so we work hard to maintain a pleasant, well-functioning and stimulating environment. In this way, we aim to maximise each resident’s individual strengths.

Benefits of working at Akari Care

  • A competitive starting salary with the opportunity to increase this through training and development
  • We cover the cost of your DBS check
  • Uniform provided
  • 28 days annual leave, based on full time hours (Bank Holidays included)
  • Recognition schemes (Akari Star Award)
