Akari Care is a family of Residential Care Homes spread across the UK, with the largest concentration of homes in the north-east. We choose the word ‘family’ with good reason, because in many ways it epitomises our values. Each Care Home we view as an extended family, bringing together residents and their families, our colleagues in care, clinicians, hairdressers, commissioners and CQC regulators, members of the local community – the list goes on. In this way, we can create a warm and inclusive environment in which our residents can feel a real sense of security and belonging, while at the same time retaining their dignity and self-respect.
We never compromise on the quality of our services, nor would you expect us to. Our extended team includes trusted GPs, Dentists, Chiropodists and Dieticians, who all work hard to improve our residents’ quality of life. Our dementia Care Homes have qualified, dedicated staff who help people to maintain their identity and dignity.
People are often quite surprised when they hear about some of the activities and facilities in our homes – things like hairdressing salons, bars, mini cinemas, gardening, and cooking courses.
