Lifetime Planning Paralegal - Ipswich

The Lifetime Planning Team

Our Lifetime Planning team helps our clients put plans and systems in place to make sure their wishes are granted and their families are provided for in the future.  Their work includes Wills, Trusts, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection.

The Role

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team in Ipswich. As a Paralegal in Lifetime Planning you will work alongside the members of the Lifetime Planning team and support them with their matters.

Main duties include:

  • Liaising with the client on behalf of the fee-earners either directly or by telephone or email and deal with any queries relevant to the client. This may involve taking instructions from the client on behalf of the lawyers
  • Assisting with drafting legal documentation and correspondence as required working alongside other team members
  • Taking on responsibility for the day to day administrative running of matters working in conjunction with the lawyers and support teams to produce invoices, letters and documents
  • Having direct contact with clients and third parties. This will include meeting them face to face, dealing with telephone calls and responding to emails and letters
  • Attending client meetings to support other lawyers in the team, to ensure, in particular, that accurate records are kept of those meetings and action points are recorded, communicated and met

Knowledge, skills and experience required

We are looking for candidates with a willingness to learn and develop, good social skills and plenty of drive and enthusiasm to help us to provide a first class client service.

Ideally, you will have:

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar Paralegal position
  • An excellent academic record
  • Strong team playing skills with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, where you will be required to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to listen and explain legal concepts to clients with clarity
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to your work
  • Courteous and efficient telephone manner
  • Well-developed communication and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to display empathy to clients
  • Adaptable approach, working with other members of the team when necessary
  • Willingness to learn new skills and show commitment to your work and team

This is an office based position, but flexible working options can be discussed at interview.
