Work Experience Programme (Monday 8th to Friday 12th September 2025) for Law Students

Work experience placements are currently only open to those in their penultimate year studying law at university.

Please note that we are unable to offer a placement in our Leeds office at this time.

During our week long scheme at Ashtons Legal LLP, you will shadow one of our solicitors in one or two of our legal groups and those teams will involve you as much as possible in their work.

As well as shadowing and assisting our legal teams you will undertake a hands-on legal research task during the week.  You will also find out more about what we do at Ashtons Legal and learn about the work of our legal teams.  You will have opportunities to meet and chat with partners, solicitors, trainees and apprentices and learn about their experience and their chosen routes into law.

We will also give you some hints and tips about how start to build your personal brand, talking you through topics such as communication skills, behaviours and working in a professional services environment.  Our team will also talk you through the different qualification routes available to you at Ashtons Legal.

We believe that our work experience programme will give you a better understanding of what a career in law could look like and an insight into the work involved.
