Hours: 40 hours per week (07:30-16:00)

We are currently looking for a Rota Coordinator in Westbury Park, Bristol where our Aurora St Christopher’s children’s home supports children and young people aged 5 to 19 years with severe and complex difficulties including those on the autistic spectrum and with physical and sensory needs.

The Role: 

Your role will be responsible for managing our staffing rotas for all our support workers.

Specifically you’ll take responsibility for ensuring we have the right level of resource to cover both our day and night shifts, 7 days of the week and to ensure that all shortfalls are identified and covered.

You’ll manage a wide range of resource related tasks such as rota planning, the booking of bank and agency staff, annual leave cover, illness/absence cover and identifying appropriate times for training sessions.

Additionally you’ll be expected to obtain the required documentation of all agency staff and ensure that the agency staff engaged are of the highest standard and that all safeguarding processes are being followed as required.

You will also support the inputting of weekly staffing data for payroll and monthly KPI and do everything possible to safeguard our young people from any form of abuse from employees, visitors, or each other, and to ensure teams follow Aurora policy and procedure.


  • Experience of working in a residential care setting.
  • Proven experience of managing a staff rota effectively, and the development of good practice in a care/learning support context.
  • Proven experience of working effectively with young people with learning disabilities, and/or special needs and understanding their needs.
  • Experience of planning, organising, and working to a set budget.
  • Experience of person centred planning.
