Temporary Summer Scouts
Balliol College seek to employ Housekeeping Scouts to work 25 hours per week, any five days out of seven, during the summer vacation. Weekend shifts should be expected.
Posts are available from mid-June until early October 2024, though some flexibility is possible with start and finish dates for the right candidates.
Uniform and training will be provided.
Our team of Housekeeping Scouts are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the College. They are observant, thorough, have good time management, and are able to multitask.

£12.00 per hour

Cleaning and associated tasks as directed.

The Head Housekeeper.
Job description
• Daily cleaning of offices, teaching rooms and communal areas as directed
• Daily disposal of waste and recycling
• Daily cleaning of communal areas and facilities
• Cleaning student study bedrooms
• Deep-cleaning of all areas at the end of term in preparation for conference guests
• Daily servicing of rooms during conference periods, including bedroom set up
• Ensuring that equipment and materials are used responsibly and in compliance with College risk assessments and COSHH regulations
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the College's organisation and the overall objectives of Balliol College.

Person specification
• Physically fit
• Experience in a scouting role or similar
• Ability to work well as part of a large team member
• Good spoken English
