Balliol College

Job description
- Daily rubbish collection
- Upkeep of bin store including regular disinfecting
- Ensuring that refuse is assembled and collected on time
- Daily cleaning of communal areas
- Cleaning and upkeep of external areas
- Sweeping and clearing of paths and walkways
- Assisting with laundry, including collection and delivery
- Accepting deliveries of cleaning materials and other consumables
- Moving and rearranging chairs and furniture
- Reporting damage, breakages or any other issues to the Head Housekeeper
- Ensuring that equipment and materials are used responsibly and in compliance with College risk assessments and COSHH regulations
- Any other duties as directed by the Head Housekeeper
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the College's organisation and the overall objectives of Balliol College.

Person specification
- Physically fit
- Experience in a scouting role or similar
- Ability to multitask and work well as part of a large team
- Good spoken English
FURTHER PARTICULARS
Holiday: The postholder will receive paid leave entitlement of 30 working days (in addition to Bank Holidays) during a complete holiday year, five of which are taken around Christmas and New Year.
Probation and notice: The probationary period will be twelve months, during which time the length of notice is one month on either side, given in writing.
