ARMED FORCES TRANSITION PROGRAMME

Salary £24,000 (£27,000 in Barratt London and Barratt North Scotland). Salary is negotiable for those who bring management / leadership experience.

If you are looking to transition into construction management this could be the programme for you. Starting in November 2018, the aim is to become a fully qualified Assistant Site Manager at the end of 12 months.

There’s a comprehensive induction programme from the moment you join, supported by training and development, covering a range of skills and additional learning. There’s ongoing support from the construction team to ensure you get all the training you need, both in essential site management skills, and also the broader people skills you need to grow professionally.

This is a structured learning and development programme with everything you need from classroom and on-the-job learning to self-development and manager coaching sessions. SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

To undertake a course of study and work experience over 12 months preparing you for the role of Assistant Site Manager and beyond.

WHAT WILL I BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Following the Assistant Site Manager Programme, including attending classroom workshops
  • Continuing to develop through reviews with your coach and mentor
  • Support the Site Manager in co-ordinating trades, direct labour and materials to meet the production programme
  • Work in conjunction with the Sales Team to ensure that regular meetings are attended and all procedures are adhered to
  • As and when required, deputise for the Site Manager
  • Support the Site Manager in ensuring that the onsite construction team is fully resourced and well directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities and are provided with full support in achieving these
  • Ensuring high standards of Health and Safety on site

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

For the Armed Forces Transition Programme, We're ideally looking for candidates that have strong leadership and management skills, who have the ability to think outside the box, problem solve and work under pressure, whilst maintaining the very highest of standards. If you have experience related to construction, so much the better, but if you can demonstrate a passion for our business, we’re ready to listen. You'll also need to develop a clear understanding of housebuilding and how you want your career to progress.

We’re looking for people who are resilient and driven, self-confident and self-disciplined articulators, with excellent time management skills. You’ll also need to be able to remain calm and controlled under pressure whilst supporting the people in your team.
