Group Sales & Marketing Performance Manager

Summary of Role

Responsible for monitoring performance of Sales & Marketing teams across the group, identifying areas of underperformance and providing guidance, coaching and training to drive performance against a set of agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and ensure consistent compliance with Group standard systems and processes.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Monitoring performance in order to recognise top performers, as well as areas where improvement is required.
  • Spending time in all Divisions (focusing on upper and lower quartile) to review performance and the use of standard Sales and Marketing processes & procedures.
  • Provide coaching and training to divisional Sales and Marketing teams where required and/or agree action plans to drive performance improvement.
  • Liaising with Division Sales Directors and/or Managing Directors to resolve ongoing performance issues that require further escalation.
  • Delivery of Divisional training where any changes to policy & procedures cannot be covered simply by Group Memo and briefing documentation.
  • Assisting with the delivery of Sales and Marketing training sessions to drive performance (Sales and Marketing Seminars)
  • Identification of areas where a new training intervention is required (e.g. Legal Issues and/or consistent performance issue) and liaise with Group Head of Sales to scope and develop.
  • Management of the Sales and Marketing KPI’s dashboards
  • Creating monthly reports for Executive Board pack and Regional Managing Directors Board pack.
  • Delivery of bespoke training sessions where a Divisional visit or the Sales & Marketing KPI dashboards indicate an area of under-performance, a lack of compliance or a lack of understanding.
  • To work closely with the Group Media Manager and Sales & Marketing Analyst to ensure Divisional Key Performance Indicators across the whole of Sales & Marketing are understood, measured and reported against
  • To Work with the relevant Regional Marketing Manager, where applicable, to agree actions required to drive performance in their Division / Region
  • Key areas of focus will be: Pricing / Sales Price Matrix / Incentive use / Unsold Stock / NND / Mystery Shopping / Sale Progression / Media Mix / Web Content / CRM use / Staff turnover / Labour Model

Personal Characteristics

  • Experience within the Housebuilding sector is essential
  • Extensive evidence of success in driving performance is required
  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive performance
  • Understanding of BDW standard procedures
  • Strong Sales or Marketing background with a sound understanding of both Sales & Marketing
  • Understanding of Divisional Sales & Marketing environment
  • Training/coaching background would be useful but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of Prada / Homebuilder / Abode systems
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Flexibility for travel is essential
  • Ability to influence at a senior and cross-functional level
