Assistant SHE Manager

Summary of the role:

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the Group Safety, Health and Environmental team. The successful candidate will provide a safety, health and environmental (SHE) service to the operating divisions, monitoring performance and advising on good practice.

What will I be responsible for?

  • Provide support and assistance site staff on SHE issues.
  • Develop an accurate understanding of the Group SHE Policy and Management System.
  • Monitor health and safety within the allocated developments and provide appropriate reports on standards observed.
  • Liaise with the Divisional SHE Managers to ensure assistance as required.
  • Carry out investigations into incidents, accidents and ill health as directed by the SHE Operations Manager
  • Ensure serious breaches of policy, procedures and legislation are brought immediately to the attention of the Contracts Manager/Construction Director.
  • Assist in all areas of SHE management under the guidance of the SHE Operations Manager.

Personal Characteristics:

  • Development role; willing to undertake study to NEBOSH certificate and NVQ level 4.
  • Proactive individual with the desire to improve SHE standards.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and the application of SHE standards and procedures.
