TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME

Run in partnership with CITB, the Sector Skills Council for construction, this Apprenticeship is designed for those wishing to train in areas such as buying, design or surveying. You'll complete a number of ‘on the job' modules, as well as working towards an NVQ or SVQ Level 3 and a BTEC in a Contracting Operations Pathway.

You will benefit from:

Once accepted, you'll join the Barratt Group on a permanent contract and commence a two-year structured Training Programme. You'll learn whilst working and attend a locally approved college on a day release basis.

At the end of the two years, you will have gained experience and valuable job skills, plus a nationally recognised professional qualification. Once you've completed your apprenticeship, there are plenty more options available to you.

This programme of structured learning and continuous, individually tailored development will give you the skills and professional qualifications to enjoy a career that could take you from Trainee right up to Director level.

SOME OF THE THINGS YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • To learn and adapt to a changing environment
  • To develop interpersonal communication skills
  • To complete the Barratt Training Manual
  • Follow Barratt policy on safety and behaviour
  • Organise work and complete within agreed acceptable time limits
  • Use correct protective clothing and equipment where appropriate
  • Communicate with other workers / customers politely
  • To attend college achieving 90 per cent attendance rate
  • To complete college work within agreed time limits
  • To be consistent at gathering quality work based evidence
  • To inform Mentor of any work/college related problems

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

There's plenty of studying, so we're looking for hard-working and ambitious educational 'achievers', which means a minimum of 5 GCSEs (with grade 4 or C or above in Maths and English). You'll also need the ability to deal equally effectively with numbers and with a wide range of people (on site and in offices). We also look for commercial know-how - which means you've got a real instinct for business matters.

Last but not least, we'll be looking for plenty of energy, initiative and commitment too.
