Butchery Supervisor

Key responsibilities include:-

  • Source the best places to buy produce from - Full autonomy for buying produce, understanding profit margins at all times and keeping waste to a minimum.
  • Negotiate the best prices and deals on a wide selection of meat and associated butchery department products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ensure all cuts of meat and produce are utilised to maximum value – Make own products such as mince packs, sausage packs and stew packs.
  • Boning out of meats and joints dependent on the needs of the customer.
  • Cutting and trimming meats and joints dependent on the needs of the customer.
  • Engage with your Team Leader / Manager on a weekly basis to review sales, KPIs and identify opportunities.
  • Ensure Health & Safety checks and date checks are completed in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures & policies
  • Work collaboratively with team leaders and supervisors to exceed and achieve all depot KPIs and objectives.
  • Ensure there are open lines of communication and the team understand what is expected of them on a daily, weekly and monthly basis (if applicable dependent on size of the butchery team).

As the Replenishment Supervisor, you will support and assist the Replenishment Team Leader in achieving and exceeding all depot KPIs, targets and objectives.

 We’re looking for someone with;

  • Demonstrable experience gained within a butchery environment. Qualified by experience
  • A natural understanding of the market / seasonal produce
  • Flair for design as this role will have complete autonomy over display units
  • Strong organisation of time with exceptional planning skills and the ability to manage and prioritise various tasks
  • Experience of delivering both excellent Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction results
  • Team building skills alongside the ability to give clear direction and delegate confidently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside excellent listening skills
