Category Assistant – Impulse/Grocery/Household/Health & Beauty

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Category Assistant to support our Park Royal Head Office Trading team as we continue on our journey where both change and growth feature heavily.

Job Purpose:

To support the Category Team with all Administrative tasks and representing the Category Team when liaising with key stakeholders.

Job Duties:

Product File Management

  • Updating the product master file
  • Setting up new suppliers
  • Setting up new products
  • Activation and deactivation of products

 Promotions Management

  • Building master promotional plan
  • Compile promotional write ups (summary) and manage updates
  • Defining pagination for all promotion leaflets
  • Approval of brochures
  • Prepare POS – proof-reading drafts and signing off accurate copy
  • Review YOY promotions by supplier and challenge any shortfalls
  • Negotiating promotional pricing to protect YoY position
  • Digital Activities – book slots with Marketing, follow up on digital bookings with suppliers and provide artwork to Marketing
  • Liaising with suppliers on corrections related to retro’s 

Price Management

  • Administering price queries
  • Resolving invoice queries
  • Reviewing Supplier Price Change Proposals 

Teamwork

  • Stock-holding - Liaise with Supply Chain to make sure adequate stocks are in depot when launching NPD and when promoting.
  • Prepare Communications to branches on key changes within the product category.
  • Manage clearance of short dated products
  • Communicating with the Retail Team
  • Updating the Marketing board with all the digital activities for suppliers

Skills and Qualifications:

Prior office administration experience preferred; ability to multitask, strong attention to detail; ability to work without supervision; excellent time management skills; exceptional communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong prioritisation and organisation skills; ability to handle confidential information; strong record keeping skills; presentation skills.
