Team and role overview
The L&D team forms part of the broader HR business partnering and HR operations functions. The team has 3 current members, one L&D manager, one L&D specialist and an L&D administrator.
Purpose
The L&D executive reports to the L&D manager and will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day learning & development operations as well as leading a range of strategic L&D projects and programmes in accordance with the L&D strategy and annual L&D plan.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Leading a range of L&D projects and programmes, including detailed design, implementation planning and business stakeholder engagement activities.
- Facilitating ad hoc of stakeholder meetings (may include specific offsite agenda items) based on the needs of specific projects, programmes or live demand from the business.
- Overseeing day to day delivery of L&D activities, including line management of L&D administrator.
- Providing oversight across all L&D policies and processes, ensuring they are implemented appropriately.
- Implementing and embedding a digital learning solution for BII.
- Acting as mandatory training content lead for the HR function (e.g. Safeguarding training, Inclusion Essentials modules), in close partnership with relevant parts of the HR team. Supports business areas / content owners to regularly refresh and update mandatory training modules as needed.
- Managing L&D demand management process from request through to deployment. This means leading on requirements-gathering and responding to business requests with the appropriate level of challenge and insight, providing clear recommendations, and working closely with HRBPs to ensure solutions are agreed in the right way. This includes requests for external coaching.
- Managing and tracking L&D budget on a quarterly basis, providing ad hoc updates as needed to senior HR stakeholders
- Responsible for the onboarding of new L&D suppliers incl contract management activities
- Supporting BII-wide programmes with relevant L&D interventions/solutions including PEDP, Career Value Proposition and the talent agenda.
- Owning L&D Sydney pages and continually improves content in line with wider L&D strategy e.g. Career Hub, Training Hub etc.
- Supporting the implementation of a Learning Management System.
- Acting as subject matter expert and design lead for early careers programmes, including graduates
The candidate
Background, skills, aptitude
The candidate must have a background in L&D, ideally within financial services.
- The successful candidates will have significant proven experience executing L&D projects and programmes.
- Candidates should be strongly motivated by BII’s development mission and ideally demonstrate some commitment to development or social goals through previous executive or non-executive activity.
