Bishop Burton College is seeking an inspiring and committed Lecturer in English to join our Creative, Care and Business team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering engaging and innovative English lessons, supporting learners to achieve their full potential and develop vital skills for the future.

What you could be doing now

  • Delivering English or related subjects in a school, sixth form, FE college or training provider

  • Teaching English GCSE or Functional Skills to a diverse group of learners

  • Working in industry with a strong background in English, communication or creative writing, looking to transition into teaching

Where you might be working now

  • A secondary school or academy, teaching English to KS4/KS5 students

  • An FE college, delivering GCSE English resits or Functional Skills

  • A private training organisation or apprenticeship provider, supporting learners with English skills

  • A professional or industry setting where English, communication and analytical skills are central, and you’re keen to move into education
