PAY

We are a real living wage employer.

As an employee (23 years +) working alternate weekends and an average number of bank holidays you can expect a starting rate at an average rate of £9.50 per hour, this is made up as follows:

  • Basic pay of £8.95
  • 20% additional pay at weekends
  • Double pay on Bank holidays.

As you develop and stay with us you have the potential to increase your earnings. Employees who complete or already have a level 2 diploma in adult social care will move onto a higher pay scale. On this scale you can expect to earn an average between £9.56 and over £10 per hour. Further career to senior carer attracts a rate at an average of £10.89 per hour.

 

 

 

TRAINING

We ensure that all our teams are well trained with excellent development opportunities.

We offer:

  • A comprehensive four day induction programme
  • If you are new to care you will receive a further two days induction to prepare you for the role
  • Support and mentorship with a designated senior carer to achieve the care certificate qualification.
  • level 2 diploma in Adult Social Care
  • Many other relevant training opportunities such medicines management and clinical observation skills.
  • Career pathways from Care Assistant, to Senior Carer to Team Leader and newly launched Nurse Associate diploma which can lead to becoming a full qualified Nurse.

JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be responsible to our Nurse Manager and accountable to the senior nurse in charge during each shift, and your duties will include:

  • Providing personal care to our male and female residents, and attending to all aspects of their needs.
  • Personal and individual activities delivery
  • Participating in nursing procedures to assist our nursing staff
  • Maintaining the dignity and privacy of residents and respecting their individual needs
  • Participating and assisting in assessments of care needs and the implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
  • Maintaining a clean and bright living environment for residents.
  • Assisting with serving meals and drinks
  • Assisting with any other tasks as requested to ensure the smooth running of the home
  • Attending and participation in orientation, mandatory and other training as required

Although we will consider applicants without qualifications or experience, the following would be an advantage:

  • Experience of working with the elderly, preferably in a care home environment.
  • Level 2 qualification in health and social care or equivalent.
