Software Assets & Contracts Manager

 

Working as part of the SAM services team within a client environment to provide overall management, delivery oversight and commercial input to software contract and compliance risk management. The principle purpose of the role is to drive adoption and use of centrally managed software agreements, ensuring proper governance is applied throughout any new contract or renewal process and ensure the organisation has a clear understanding of any compliance risks and that these are being appropriate managed.  mainly involved in pre-sales

 

Individual Duties / Tasks

Software Contract Management.
a. Proactively review upcoming contract renewals for at least a year ahead and priorities team activity accordingly.

b. Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements relating to new or existing software vendors and/or contracts.

c. Work with available data and the wider team to gain insights into what is already deployed and/or in use to make informed contract renewal and commercial decisions.

Licensing Advice / Helpdesk.
a. Respond in a timely manner to ad hoc software licensing queries.

b. Spot trends and create “FAQs” for common themes and questions.

Compliance Management.
a. Agree software vendor priorities with customer sponsor and Account Director.

b. Coordinate activities across the SAM team to determine the compliance position for nominated vendors.

c. Review findings from compliance reviews and work with the business to determine and then implement appropriate remedial actions.

d. Coordinate response to any external vendor requests for software audits.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

Key role responsibilities will include but is not limited to the following


  • Software Contract Management. Work with the customer business, Bytes Account Director and wider SAM team to support new shaping of new software contracts and proactive management of existing contracts.

  • Recharge Reporting. Work with the wider team to ensure timely and accurate recharge reports are created covering nominated software vendors.

  • Licensing Advice / Helpdesk. Directly support/field as well as coordinate the resolution of ad hoc software licensing questions emerging from the customer organisation.

  • Compliance Management. Coordinate the prioritisation, scoping and delivery of compliance positions for software vendors, as agreed from time to time with the customer, being able to work with imperfect information and variable timescales.

  • Team Management & Reporting. Manage and coordinate team’s priorities and delivery activities acting as the main point of contact between Bytes Account Director and customer sponsor.
