Digital Content Creator

The Conservative Party is looking for a Digital Content Creator to join our Digital team in London. This is an opportunity to help shape how the Party tells our story online at an important moment in British politics. You will turn political ideas, arguments and events into content that people choose to watch, understand and share.

You could be designing a social graphic in the morning, filming a senior politician in the afternoon and editing a vertical video for publication that evening. You will help us explain serious issues without making them dull, spot moments with the potential to cut through and find creative ways to tell the Conservative story online.

The successful candidate will understand what makes people stop scrolling, think on their feet and develop original ways to engage audiences. You may already have professional content experience, or you may be at the start of your career with strong creative instincts, a good portfolio and the determination to learn quickly. Most importantly, you will understand our content, who we are speaking to and what we want audiences to take away from it.

Your responsibilities:

  • Create graphics, videos and other digital content for the Conservative Party’s social media channels.
  • Plan, film and edit short-form video, with a particular focus on vertical content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
  • Design engaging social graphics for policies, campaigns, announcements and fast-moving political moments.
  • Develop bold and original ideas with the potential to reach new audiences, generate conversation and be widely shared.
  • Write and edit clear, engaging copy for video scripts, captions, headlines, on-screen text and other digital assets.
  • Participate in the national digital team’s duty rota for channel management and out-of-hours cover.

What we’re looking for in you:

Essential

  • A strong interest in British politics and a commitment to the values of the Conservative Party.
  • Experience creating successful social media content, whether professionally or through personal projects.
  • A good eye for design and an instinct for what looks right.
  • The ability to turn complex political information into clear and digestible content.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop or similar creative software, or a clear willingness and ability to learn.
  • The ability to work quickly, take initiative and meet tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable

  • Experience managing or creating content for professional social media accounts.
  • Experience working in politics or news.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and how to use performance data to improve content.
  • Experience of photography, animation, livestreaming or Adobe After Effects.
