The role

 

  • The Office365 and SharePoint Lead will be instrumental in furthering the CDC strategy of adopting Microsoft Office365 cloud services as part of its Digital Transformation programme. The objective being to transform our end user productivity and collaboration experience across all offices and locations.
  • The role will partner with business leaders and stakeholders to develop strategies and tactics that satisfy CDC business requirements and leverage Office365 services to deliver effective, practical, and secure solutions to staff and partners.
  • The role is responsible for providing the thought leadership on how best to use the Office365 tools and services, and to proactively monitor and assess the impact of future changes and developments on the Microsoft roadmap.
  • The role will take central responsibility for all Office365 and SharePoint issue and service request resolution.
  • The role will collaborate with the Programme & Change Manager to deliver projects and continuous improvement.
  • The Office365 and SharePoint Lead will report to the Chief Technology Officer.

 

The role involves both operational and tactical management of the Office365 and SharePoint online infrastructure. There are three main pillars to the role:

  • Support – Ensure the Office365 and SharePoint online infrastructure is appropriately managed and secure, and that service issues and requests are addressed and provisioned in a timely manner. This includes working with users, stakeholders, an internal team, third parties and managed service providers.
  • Analysis – Analyse the business needs of the organisation with respect to Office365 and SharePoint by working with internal stakeholders, prioritising requirements, considering the impact of change, and successfully delivering on objectives through own skills or external service providers.
  • Tactical – Support the CTO to further develop the strategy around Office365 and SharePoint, keeping the business up to date with the evolving technological environment.

 

 

 

 

The candidate

 

  • Is highly knowledgeable with respect to Office365, SharePoint online, and Microsoft cloud services.
  • Can demonstrate excellent Office365 and SharePoint administration and configuration skills.
  • Is fully conversant with scripting Office365 and SharePoint queries and tasks.
  • Understands and follows Microsoft best practice for SharePoint configuration, custom development, interfacing, and information security.
  • Has a good working knowledge of web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, JSON, and CSS.
  • Can demonstrate good business analysis and requirements gathering skills and experience, and can come up with creative solutions.
  • Has had prior responsibility for service management, issues and request resolution for Office365 and SharePoint with demonstrable experience and knowledge.
  • Has empathy and understanding of other cultures within a work context.
  • Can demonstrate personal commitment and accountability to ensure standards are continuously sustained and improved both within the internal team and service providers.
  • Has previous experience of leading Office365 and SharePoint migration and adoption projects, workflow implementations, and small custom configuration and development projects.
  • Has strong inter-personal and communications skills to manage relationships both internally and with external service providers.
  • Has good team leadership skills, and can demonstrate this in their prior work experience.
  • Understands the importance of people development.
  • Suggests training and development activities within their team
  • Provides on the job training and coaching for team members.
  • Has a demonstrable ability to take on new skills.
  • Has good analytical, problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Is driven and self-motivated.
  • Has a track record of managing multiple work streams simultaneously, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. In addition to being a thought leader, the candidate must be able to see a plan through to implementation.
  • University degree or equivalent.
