Our mission is to support the building of businesses throughout Africa and South Asia, to create jobs and make a lasting difference to people’s lives in some of the world’s poorest places.
We aim to invest in countries where we can have the greatest impact. In countries where the private sector is weak and jobs are scarce.
We invest in sectors where growth leads to jobs – both directly and indirectly. In sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, infrastructure, financial institutions, construction, health and education. Last year, the businesses we invest in created more than a million jobs.
We are successful because we are a high quality investment organisation, using the best commercial skills and judgement to make investments in great companies and support them to grow over the long term. We therefore want to attract people with these skills but who are motivated to use them to dramatically improve the private sector in Africa and South Asia

As CDC grows and we increase our footprint in the developing countries in which we invest, we need to increase our expertise in enabling our staff to move from one location to another (on a permanent or temporary basis), as well as payrolling those employees, both in the UK and locations overseas.
Additionally, we have an obligation to benchmark our reward levels and think creatively about the reward aspects of our employee value proposition.
We wish to expand the HR team to include a specialist to undertake this role.
Global mobility. Assisting CDC to create and manage processes relating to global mobility, including short and long term assignments and permanent moves. End to end involvement, including policy explanation with relocating employees at all levels, managing relationships with third parties, and ensuring smooth completion of all aspects of mobility.
Payroll management. Responsibility for management of outsourced payrolls; CDC payrolls in the UK, India and South Africa, as well as the development of payroll and other payment services for employees and contractors in other countries in which we invest.
General reward, with focus on survey, benchmarking and market analysis. CDC operates in an unusual reward environment, and the holder of this role will build understanding and expertise, enabling them to lead reviews and analysis of the CDC reward structures in our different locations. In particular they will assist with preparations for a major triennial benchmarking review required by our shareholder.
