  • At CDC, we take an entrepreneurial approach to investment. We think innovatively about ways to deploy our capital, attract and mobilise other investors, and drive transformational impact.
  • Primarily, CDC invests through direct equity, direct debt and funds products to achieve impact and a financial return which is reinvested into more businesses. We aim to create jobs and accelerate economic prosperity and focus on sectors that will do this; manufacturing, food and agriculture, infrastructure, financial institutions, construction, health and education.

Team and role overview

  • The Corporate Debt team is a diverse team of people based in London, Mumbai, Nairobi and Lagos. The team provides loans and other debt investments to private businesses across CDC’s geographies and in the following sectors: manufacturing, telecoms, food & agriculture, real estate, healthcare and education. To ensure investments are made with maximum impact in our markets, the team interacts and collaborates with a large cross section of stakeholders within CDC. Corporate Debt is organized within the SMART Industries group at CDC, which also invests in equity, private equity funds and venture capital in these same sectors.
