Housekeeping Manager - General Areas

Our Housekeeping team is responsible for maintaining more than 700 units of accommodation; from apartments and penthouses to Lodges and Treehouses, and for looking after our public areas and office spaces, so no two days are the same. HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER - GENERAL AREAS

You will ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Housekeeping cleaning operation of the General Areas on the village, by providing sufficient training and development of all colleagues within the department you will ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are achieved, along with high standards of service and guest care. You will also be responsible for achieving departmental targets.

The role will require you to report to the Housekeeping Line Manager, and manage a team of colleagues, to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Housekeeping Operation.

This is a varied and diverse role and will include:

  • The organisation and allocation of duties, ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved and maintained at all times
  • Continually reviewing and updating policies and procedures to ensure all departmental targets are achieved, including; managing budgets, payroll costs and delivering exceptional guest care
  • The effective recruitment and selection of Housekeeping colleagues and the coordination and evaluation of training needs within the division
  • The general welfare, motivation and development of direct reports, including the monitoring of standards in line with company policy

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience within the hospitality or facilities industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An organised and methodical approach
  • Numerate and literate
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Have a motivational approach towards colleagues and work

Desirable requirements:

  • 1 years’ management experience
  • Computer literate
  • Budgetary control experience
