A short break at Center Parcs allows families to create their own experience, where they are free to do as much or as little as they like. In summer 2019, we’re bringing our unique and unrivalled family short breaks to Longford Forest in The Midlands region of Ireland.

Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs resort – Longford Forest - will welcome 250,000 guests each year, providing the very best facilities and activities. To transform our vision into a reality, we’re looking for an incredible and unstoppable team of around 1,000 employees – and this is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start.


As the Maintenance Manager for all guest accommodation on the village, you’ll be a key member of our Technical Services department and relish this chance to lead, plan and manage the daily activities of a sizeable multi-skilled team. This will comprise of up to 45 staff, including 18 engineers under your control once the team is fully recruited.

This role will commence in November 2018 and will require some travel to the UK to undertake training upon commencement.

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will provide structure, planning and direction to the maintenance team. You will develop and deliver a strategy and system of planned preventative maintenance to ensure the quality of accommodation is maintained. You will also oversee the reactive maintenance and ensure jobs are prioritised and completed in a timely manner.

In addition you will have responsibility for ensuring all statutory/legal testing is carried out to the relevant standard and documented. There will also be the requirement to manage the supervision of contractors and annual maintenance contracts, ensuring high standards of work, compliance with Center Parcs standard conditions of work, Health and Safety regulations and cost effectiveness.


As you can imagine accommodation is key to providing the ultimate experience for our guests, which is why we’re looking for an experienced and suitably qualified maintenance professional, with first rate management skills, who can plan and prioritise works to a high standard, on time and within budget. 

Essential requirements:

  • An NFQ Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or demonstrable equivalent (i.e. National Craft Certificate) in a Construction, Electrical or Mechanical/Engineering Trade Or a NFQ Level 7 Degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, minimum or demonstrable equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience
  • A minimum of 2 year’s management experience, including the management of a delegated budget
  • Experience in planning and prioritising tasks for a multi-disciplined workforce and a proven ability to complete works to a high standard, on time and within budget
  • Computer literacy with good experience in Microsoft packages
  • The ability to communicate well at all levels

Desirable requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in the use of an electronic procurement system
  • Experience in using Microsoft Project


You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4 week period on a flexible basis.

Initially in the pre-opening period, your hours of work will generally be Monday to Friday office hours. Once the village is open and operational you will be required to work some public / bank holidays, evenings and weekends in line with business requirements.
