Assistant Manager – Pottery Studio

Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs resort – Longford Forest - will welcome 250,000 guests each year, providing the very best facilities and activities. To transform our vision into a reality, we’re looking for an incredible and unstoppable team of around 1,000 employees – and this is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The pottery painting studio is set to be a favourite with our guests, it’s a place where they can relax and unveil their inner artist. There’s a wide range of pieces to paint and items are glazed overnight for a professional finish.

We are now looking for an Assistant Manager to run the Pottery Studio and its associated cost centre activities including, but not exclusively: Pottery studio, retail sales and stock.

Duties will include:

  • Providing assistance in driving and developing demand and further opportunities to enhance the commercial management of the studio
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the pottery studio in accordance with company standards
  • Maintaining high standards of guest care and building management
  • Ensuring stock is well maintained, accounted for and the stock is well merchandised to create an environment that attracts guests and encourages them to return
  • Ensuring the Pottery Studio team are well trained, developed and motivated

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to apply for Garda Vetting. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

ABOUT YOU

The ideal candidate will have a highly motivated personality with the ability to engage and coach their team to deliver excellent service and maintain excellent standards in both activities and facilities.

Essential Requirements:

  • 2 years previous supervisory experience
  • Planning experience
  • A high degree of organisational skills
  • Excellent people skills
  • Computer literacy

Desirable Requirements:

  • Pottery or craft experience
  • Retail and merchandising experience
  • Previous experience in the leisure industry

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. During the pre-opening period it is anticipated that your hours of work will generally be Monday – Friday office hours.

Once the village is operational your working hours will include some weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis, with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.

There will be the requirement to travel to the UK to undertake initial training on commencement of this role.
