Retail Assistant - Bakery

On a Center Parcs break we want our guests to relax knowing everything is taken care of. Our Retail department provides a fantastic shopping experience, from essential groceries to luxury items.

Across each Village there are several retail units, including convenience stores, children’s toy shop and clothing stores. Whether you visit our on-Village supermarket packed full of your favourite brands or our dedicated sweet shop for those afternoon treats, one thing’s for sure: our retail teams deliver a memorable experience and excellent service wherever you go.


We are looking for a Retail Bakery Assistant with a passion for delivering excellent customer service to join our busy Bakery team within the Parc Market.

In this role, you will welcome guests in a positive, friendly manner and ensure that they are served quickly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Other responsibilities will include baking morning goods and hot foods and ensuring all work areas are kept clean and tidy.

Previous experience of working within a retail environment would be beneficial, however full training will be provided. This is a busy department, so the ability to remain calm and perform well under pressure will be required.


You will be contracted to work 128 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Shifts will fall between 6:30am - 9:30pm.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.


Essential requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Naturally friendly and professional manner
  • Physically capable of carrying out the demands of the role

Desirable requirements:

  • Basic Food Hygiene Qualification
  • Current Clean Drivers Licence
  • Previous experience of working in a customer service environment, ideally within a retail setting
  • NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service or equivalent
  • Computer literate
