We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager with a strong background in Conference/Function/Events Management. In this role you will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of all village events, including corporate and internal bookings.

You will work closely with the Events Co-ordinator and Operational Managers to ensure we consistently provide the highest levels of guest satisfaction through service and value for money whilst achieving both revenue and profit targets set for the village.

This is a hands-on Management role, where you will play an integral part in the day-to-day running of all the events.

Duties will include:

  • Ensuring the correct level of resource is deployed to deliver the event
  • Providing advice and guidance on colour schemes, themes and décor, with best value for money and brand delivery in mind
  • Management of Budget/Payroll costs to ensure divisional targets are achieved without compromising guest satisfaction/customer service levels
  • Co-ordinating the training of direct reports, ensuring training records are kept up to date and evaluating training needs within the division. Providing corrective coaching as required
  • General welfare, motivation and development of the events staff, including monitoring of standards making full use of the Company’s policies and procedures for performance management
  • Analysis of data and compilation of statistics/reports for collation into the Annual Planner and to undertake the necessary follow-up action to improve Delivering Excellent Service scores


You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4 week period.  This means that your hours and days of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.    

As our Village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours may include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis. Shifts will fall between 6am and 12am.


Essential requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience of managing small (1-125 delegate), medium (125–400 delegate) and large scale (400+ delegate) conferences / functions / events
  • Menu/Wine and Spirits working knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An organised and methodical approach
  • Computer literate
  • Numerate and literate
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Have a motivational approach towards colleagues and work

Desirable requirements:

  • Event Management/Hospitality Qualification BTECH/Diploma/Degree
  • Food Hygiene Qualifications
