First Aid and Emergency Technician (Fixed-Term)

Welcome to Center Parcs - the number one choice for short break holidays, employing a team of over 9,000 people across six separate villages located in the UK and Ireland. Our employees work together to make sure guests have a memorable and safe short break with us and, under current Government guidelines, this must include everyone staying alert and safe whilst on the village.

If you’re a qualified First Aider with a genuine desire to help people in need and use your skills to make a bigger difference, then this role would be perfect for you.

Operating out of the First Aid & Occupational Health Centre, alongside a team of Occupational Health Nurses, you’ll be responsible for triaging and if appropriate treating the guests and colleagues who either present themselves to the First Aid Centre or who have had initial response from a Center Parcs First Aider. You will also respond to on site first aid or emergency call outs, with a focus on assessment, stabilisation, and initial treatment before signposting or referring on to NHS services appropriate to the level of injury/illness sustained.

Other responsibilities will include logging all incidents and actions, ensuring compliance with company and GDPR standards and providing welfare follow-ups post incident, documenting any onward treatment requirements and outcomes.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) with Child & Adult List Barring Check. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

This is a fixed-term role starting January 2022 until January 2023.

You will be contracted to work 104 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Your shifts will fall between the hours of 9am-9pm.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

Alongside your First Aid at Work certification, including AED, or extensive experience in first aid, you’ll have first class communication skills, a calm and unflappable nature with the ability to assess and act quickly.

Essential requirements:

  • First Aid certification, with AED or extensive experience in providing First Aid
  • BLS Adult and Paediatrics or prepared to undertake training
  • First Responder on scene qualification or prepared to undertake training
  • Qualification in Oxygen administration or prepared to undertake training
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in high pressure situations
  • Full UK driving licence
  • The ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team

Center Parcs is a fantastic place to work and the benefits are as impressive as they are unique. Here are just a few:

  • Management/Colleague Bonus Scheme
  • Pension Scheme with Life Assurance
  • Colleague Recognition and Reward Scheme – offering a choice of Center Parcs and High Street vouchers
  • Free use of our leisure facilities

  • Access to Perks at Work Portal - offering a wide range of retail and leisure discounts
  • An Employee Assistance Program - providing support on financial, health and legal matters
  • Excellent opportunities for career development and progression with the opportunity to gain externally recognised qualifications

If this sounds like your ideal job, then we’d love to see your application.
