We are now recruiting for an Assistant Head of Department to join this busy team on a fixed term basis.

You will assist the Housekeeping management team in the smooth and efficient running of the housekeeping division, managing a team of Supervisors and up to 200 colleagues. This varied and diverse role will include:

  • Assisting with the organisation and allocation of duties relating to the housekeeping cleaning operation, ensuring the highest possible standards are achieved and maintained at all times.
  • Assisting with managing budgets and payroll costs to ensure all divisional targets are achieved, without compromising our level of customer care.
  • The effective recruitment and selection of housekeeping colleagues and the coordination and evaluation of training needs within the division.
  • The general welfare, motivation and development of direct reports, including the monitoring of standards in line with company policy.


Please note this is a 1 year fixed-term contract.

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period, working on a flexible basis.  This means your hours and days of work could vary each week, so you will need to be flexible to work a variety of shifts including weekends and some public / bank holidays.


Essential requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ previous supervisory experience
  • Previous experience of managing medium to large sized teams
  • Excellent communication skills with an organised and methodical approach
  • Strong motivational skills
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Desirable requirements:

  • Possess a management or cleaning qualification or be willing to develop to this level
