We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Village Finance team.

In this role, you will provide the General Manager and the Village management team with a wide range of financial and commercial support and ensure that all finance activity is consistent with corporate policy and guidelines.  You will produce timely and accurate management accounts information for both Village and Head Office management and investigate and analyse business information; highlighting areas of opportunity. 

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Village maximises its revenue / profit opportunities by sharing best practise and supporting the management team in reviewing operational efficiency and project implementation.

Previous people management experience is required as you will be responsible for the day to day activities of the Village finance team, including identifying training and personal development requirements.

You will also be required to undertake duty manager responsibilities on a rota basis which will include being on call overnight.  This will include responsibility for ensuring excellent guest service, operational standards, incident management and the general smooth running of the Village.  The ability to make sound decisions across a broad range of situations, often under pressure, is therefore essential.


You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4 week period on a flexible basis. This means that your hours and days of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.  Due to the seniority of this role, additional hours may be necessary as required.  You will also be required to work some evenings, weekends (including overnight stays) and public / bank holidays.


Essential requirements:

  • Recognised accounting qualification, CIMA preferred
  • 5 years management accounts experience within a commercial business whose turnover exceeds £20m
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Excel and competent user of other Microsoft software
  • Excellent management and communication skills and staff supervisory experience
  • Confident self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment, with good influencing skills
