We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Technical Lead to join our busy Head Office IT team.

In this role, you will lead the Deployment and Operations practices within the IT Infrastructure function as well as continually develop Infrastructure Deployment processes and standards to ensure that the physical environment is secure.

Excellent communication skills are required as you will regularly engage with our supplier partners as well as manage all manner of IT Infrastructure requests from IT Project Managers; assisting them to deliver projects in a timely and efficient manner.

Other responsibilities include providing technical support, participating in major outages and incident bridges, fulfilling the role of IT Infrastructure solution design for select projects and producing and keeping up to date all Infrastructure Standards.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of implementing processes, developing documentation and managing 3rd party resources. Previous experience of working on medium / large scale IT infrastructure technical projects is essential.


You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period. Normal Head Office working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility with working hours will be required.


Essential requirements: 

  • Relevant professional or academic qualifications, e.g. NVQ, BTEC, MCSE or CCNA
  • Seven years minimum experience in IT, five years in a technical infrastructure role, e.g. IT Infrastructure Engineer, advising on, deploying and supporting IT Infrastructure
  • Proven track record implementing process, developing documentation, and managing 3rd party resources, all the time focusing on quality, throughout the deployment and operations lifecycle
  • Experience working on medium/large scale IT infrastructure technical Projects
  • Good business and technical comms skills, inc. presentations and technical writing

Desirable requirements: 

  • Further Training and certification in Technical IT, e.g. Amazon Web Services, Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat
  • Previously worked within a medium to large enterprise class organisation, following industry standards such as ITIL.
  • Cloud, security and virtualisation experience e.g. AWS, VMware, Hyper V, Cisco
