A short break at Center Parcs allows families to create their own experience, where they are free to do as much or as little as they like. Later this year, we’re bringing our unique and unrivalled family short breaks to Longford Forest, here in the Midlands.

Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs village – Longford Forest – is really taking shape and when fully operational will provide the very best in facilities and activities to over 250,000 guests each year. To turn our vision into a reality, we’re looking for an incredible and unstoppable team of more than 1,000 employees, including a small team of Assistant Pool Managers for our Subtropical Swimming Paradise.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a focal point for every Center Parcs village, our Subtropical Swimming Paradise (STSP) is a real favourite with all our guests and that theme is set to continue here at Longford – in fact, once built, ours will be one of a kind and the largest pool in Ireland.

It will have something for everyone – from whirlpools to cold water plunge pools – and as one of our Subtropical Swimming Paradise Assistant Managers, your role will focus on helping ensure all guests receive a warm welcome, enjoy great times and create unforgettable moments in a safe and superb setting.

Reporting to and supporting the Subtropical Swimming Paradise Manager, you’ll assist in the smooth running of all facilities and help oversee day to day pool operations. This will involve leading a large and diverse team, with responsibility for maintaining high standards of compliance in relation to quality and safety, as well as delivering the very best in guest service care, whilst meeting agreed performance targets in your functional areas of accountability.

The role will differ initially to when the resort is open and fully operational so flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to help out as required are key requirements.

ABOUT YOU

As you’ll appreciate, it a demanding and challenging role, ideally suited to an experienced leisure professional, able to demonstrate evidence of managing a large/diverse team in a related environment, along with a good knowledge of swimming pool operations. In addition, we’ll also be looking for a strong customer focus, first rate communication skills and good level of commercial awareness, coupled with a proven ability to manage service standards and meet agreed KPI’s.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to apply for Garda Vetting. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

Essential Requirements:

  • IWS/National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience of managing large teams within a similar environment

Desirable Requirements:

  • A Leisure Management Qualification
  • PPO certification/experience
  • RLSS Trainer Assessor

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. During the pre-opening period it is anticipated that your hours of work will generally be Monday – Friday office hours.

Once the village is operational your working hours will include evenings, weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis, with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.

There will be the requirement to travel to the UK to undertake initial training on commencement of this role.
