Assistant Manager – Cycle Hire

A short break at Center Parcs allows families to create their own experience, where they are free to do as much or as little as they like. In 2019, we’re bringing our unique and unrivalled family short breaks to Longford Forest in The Midlands region of Ireland.

Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs resort – Longford Forest - will welcome 250,000 guests each year, providing the very best facilities and activities. To transform our vision into a reality, we’re looking for an incredible and unstoppable team of around 1,000 employees – and this is a unique opportunity to be involved from the start.


Our Cycle Centre is set to be a thriving hub and key area of activity, as well as being a very busy operation with its own retail shop that’s designed to fulfil the needs of each and every guest…whatever their age.

In this role, you will assist the Cycle Centre Manager with the smooth running of all Cycle Centre facilities, including maintaining and driving the commercial management and control of associated costs. 

Other responsibilities will include supporting the Cycle Centre Manager in driving and delivering excellent guest service, achieving all financial targets, managing budgets and delivering agreed performance targets.

The successful candidate will have a friendly and professional manner along with excellent communication skills as they will be required to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues including counter parts on other villages.

Previous supervisory / managerial experience is essential as you will be responsible for the motivation of the team as well as providing coaching and coordinating any training requirements.   

Prior to the village opening you’ll be involved in training the team, ensuring all are appropriately skilled and ready to greet our first guests in preparation for the successful opening of Longford Forest in summer 2019. 


Essential requirements:

  • Financial awareness and understanding of control of budgets
  • Self-motivated, approachable and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A mechanical aptitude

Desirable requirements:

  • CYTEC Qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of cycle maintenance

Please note that the role will differ initially to when the resort is open and fully operational so flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to help out as required are key requirements.


You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. During the pre-opening period it is anticipated that your hours of work will generally be Monday – Friday office hours.

Once the village is operational your working hours will include some weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and/or New Year on a rota basis with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.
