Assistant Retail Manager (fixed-term)

On a Center Parcs break we want our guests to relax knowing everything is taken care of. Our Retail department provides a fantastic shopping experience, from everyday groceries to sweet treats to toys, gifts and clothing.

Across each village there are a number of retail units, including our very own supermarket; Parcmarket and dedicated sweet shop; Treats, as well as a children’s toy store, a gift shop and our swimwear and accessories shop and these are all complemented by our clothing store.

ASSISTANT RETAIL MANAGER | Circa €34,700 per annum 

Please note this is a fixed-term contract until 16th January 2025.

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Retail Services Manager with leadership, drive and a commitment to deliver service excellence.

In conjunction with the Retail Services Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the village Retail operation overseeing on-site vending, pre-arrival orders, and warehouse and delivery service. Other responsibilities include management of the retail team to deliver budgeted financial targets, service targets and operational standards. You will also ensure compliance to department operational procedures, company policies, and relevant legislation.

You will support with facilitating and developing a culture that promotes and encourages the general wellbeing, motivation, and morale of your team, whilst ensuring effective performance management strategies are in place and your team are actively contributing towards this.

HOURS OF WORK

Please note this is a fixed-term contract until 16th January 2025.

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

  • Ability to lead a team in a busy retail environment
  • Strong financial awareness – stocktaking / working schedules / wastage analysis
  • Previous experience in a large organisation with full team management responsibility
  • Have a motivational approach towards colleagues and work
  • Empathetic and supportive approach to leading a team
  • Able to coach individuals to be accountable for their own performance

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience of back of house systems for stock management and ordering
