Set in hundreds of acres of beautiful forest, our new Center Parcs resort – Longford Forest - will welcome 250,000 guests each year, providing the very best facilities and activities. ABOUT THE ROLE
At Longford Forest, the Food and Beverage department will employ around 300 team members across 10 different restaurants, cafés and bars, as well as a production kitchen.
We are now looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to join the team of our American style restaurant; Hucks.
Hucks is a busy restaurant, serving American style cuisine. As one of our biggest units it has a restaurant (250 covers), bar, games zone and children’s play area, it’s a fast-paced environment with ample opportunity to interact and engage with our guests.
Initially you will be involved in the large scale recruitment and training of the back of house teams, ensuring all are appropriately skilled and ready in preparation for the successful opening of Longford Forest in summer 2019.
Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you will work with the Assistant Kitchen Managers and team leaders, to ensure our back of house teams operate to the required Center Parcs brand standards whilst promoting a positive and proactive working environment. You will provide support to the Back of House Operations Manager and take part in wider village activities as well as menu development in liaison with the Group Chef.

The role will differ initially to when the resort is open and fully operational so flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to help out as required are key requirements. There will be the requirement to travel to the UK to undertake initial training on commencement of this role.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie in a large organisation with full management responsibility for a team of chefs or as Kitchen Manager/Head Chef in a smaller unit. You should be able to demonstrate excellent people management skills, along with a clear ability to lead and motivate a large team in a kitchen environment.
HOURS OF WORK
You will be contracted to work 160 hours per 4 week period on a flexible basis. This means that your actual hours and days of work could vary each week. Shifts are straight and will fall between midnight including weekends and public / bank holidays on a rota basis. Hucks is predominantly an evening operation so it is expected the majority of the shifts will be evening based.
In the pre-opening period your shift pattern will generally be working Monday to Friday office hours with flexibility required around business requirements.
