Tutor – Lipreading (Talent Bank)

Are you an experienced Lipreading Tutor with a passion for teaching adult learners? Then why not join the prestigious Centre for Deaf Education as part of the Lipreading and Acquired Hearing Loss team at our ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated College, helping to bring together people across London and beyond, and to enrich lives through learning.

The department has been supporting deaf and hard of hearing students for over 100 years and offers a range of live and interactive Lipreading and Acquired Hearing Loss long and short term courses, catering to all levels, from beginners to advanced. This role will play a key part in helping students improve their communication skills through lipreading in a relaxed atmosphere, and we are looking for Lipreading Tutors to teach in-person, in the day time and evening.

  • Have up to date knowledge, enthusiasm and interest for the subject of hearing loss including excellent knowledge of lipreading theory.
  • To have completed and passed the City Lit lipreading teacher training course.
  • Can teach in a way that ensures inclusion of all students with hearing loss and/or other learning needs.
