About the role

Are you a creative and dynamic Maths Tutor experienced in successfully guiding adults through GCSE? If so, then join our Centre for Universal Skills and enable learners to develop the skills they need to participate in society, make progress at work and express themselves.

You will be a skilled mathematician with an in-depth understanding of GCSE Maths who can facilitate the development of mathematical and numeracy skills through problem solving, exploration, and discussion.

We are currently seeking a GCSE Maths Skills Tutor for GCSE Maths Higher, every Tuesday and Friday, 17:30 – 21:00 , online, from as soon as possible to 16th June 2025.

  • A qualification relevant to the subject being taught.
  • Proven experience and success in teaching higher GCSE Maths and other accredited courses to adults.
  • Ability to enable learners to invest in their learning providing a clear framework of what they need to do to improve both within a class and over the length of the course.
  • Zoom for online learning and ability to promote student use of online technologies to develop their learning would be advantageous.
  • Experience of using VLEs, e.g. Google Classroom.
