DWF is looking to recruit a Bid Executive to be based remotely or in commutable distance from one of DWF's regional offices.

Main function of job:

To assist in the management of the complete tender process for DWF specifically focusing on Public Sector bids and in order to work to the best practice protocol which is implemented across the firm.

It is important to note that this role will cover all types of public sector bids in all their different formats including support in respect of mini competitions under established public sector frameworks and formal invitation to tenders including pre-qualification questionnaires.

The Bid Executive will work with the Lead Lawyers in respect of our Public Sector expertise on all major tenders or PQQs and will take personal responsibility for lower profile opportunities, helping the team to apply a self-serve approach where possible and taking responsibility for the ongoing development of a usable bid content library in respect of public sector bidding.

The Bid Executive will work closely with the Head of Bids and the rest of the bid team to ensure effective and accurate conversion and pipeline information is captured.

Main Duties:

  • To work with the Bid team and the wider business to co-ordinate and support pitch opportunities on behalf of the Public Sector team and as required from the wider business including; Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Formal Invitation to Tenders, Capability Statements (both generic and company specific) , as well as industry sectors, Team Sheets and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist in the consistent delivery of a fully searchable historical pitch library on behalf of the Public Sector Team.
  • Extract all key information from pitches as part of the bid close-out process
  • Ensure consistent quality of approach is implemented on a national basis in line with the recommendations outlined within the Bid Process.
  • Ensure all tenders are brand compliant.
  • To work with the Bid team to establish a monitoring service to ensure that DWF are made aware of any published tender opportunities on behalf of the Public Sector Team
  • To produce and issue monthly tender reports on behalf of the Public Sector Team showing those bids which DWF have won, lost and are awaiting outcomes on.
  • To undertake post tender reviews and disseminate the information in accordance with the Bid Process.
  • Work with the wider Client Development teams to integrate key marketing activity and client intel into Public Sector Bids.


Must have at least 12 months experience of working within a business development / bid role and understand the key elements of successful pitching.

  • Experience of working within a team
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Experience in prioritising tasks and working to tight deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Copy writing skills
  • Experience of producing client communications working within brand guidelines
  • Degree qualified
