Head of Inclusive Employment and Day Opportunities

Salary:£75-80k

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)

Location: Newport House, Chelmsford

ECL are working in partnership with Essex County Council to transform day opportunities to better meet the needs of our current and potential future customers.  We have long term contract (7 years) that will allow the growth of the biggest inclusive employment service in the UK and support hundreds of adults with L/D and autism to gain paid (that matches their skills and interests).

At the same time will be transforming our offer for older people and adults with PMLD.  Our aim is to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and provide value for money to our strategic partner (ECC).  We genuinely believe we can create the best inclusive employment system and day opportunities in the country. Due to the pending retirement of the current post holder in July 2021 the opportunity to lead us on this journey is available.

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strategic vision, strong leadership skills and the ability to ensure the overall delivery of a quality service that will meet and exceed both the customer and commissioner expectations?

This is an exciting time to join ECL as we lead the transformation of this dynamic new model of working, moving away from traditional day opportunities to give priority to asset-based community development enabling adult social care input to reduce reliance on health and social care.

In the medium term ECL aspires to develop this new model as a product to offer outside of Essex to new commissioning bodies and develop a private payers market, so with this as your objective as the head of service you will be required to make commercial decisions in order to ensure growth while ensuring the service remains financially sustainable.

You’ll use your expertise in LD, Autism or dementia (or both) to guide service improvement to deliver sustainable transformation of the service during the next 5/7 years that will compete with the best services in the Country for both older people and LD/Autism.

Naturally you’ll ensure that the required organisational changes are achieved within agreed costs, timescales and other constraints in order to deliver ECL Inclusive Employment and Day Opportunities Business strategy, collating and sharing lessons and recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
