Location – Office base Chelmsford but community based role

Full-Time – 18.5 hours per week

ECL are looking for a Sensory Specialist Practitioner to join the team, this role is to support sensory impaired adults to maximize their independence and to provide support for their carer’s and families. 

As part of your role, you will undertake an assessment of needs and provide the appropriate support to people with a sight loss, hearing loss, who are Deaf or deafblind to facilitate independence and improved health and wellbeing.

To be successful, you need:

  • Experience of working with people who are hard of hearing, Deaf, sight impaired, blind or dual sensory impaired (deafblind) desirable.
  • To be friendly, approachable, supportive and adaptable to change
  • To think creatively, challenging the norms, and constructively challenging those around you to ensure continuous improvement, commercial astuteness, and inspire the same in colleagues.
  • To ensure the proper assessment, management and mitigation of risk
  • To take responsibility for a caseload of people with sensory impairments
  • To maintain a high level of knowledge of other services
  • Strong communication skills
  • To maintain customer records
  • Experience with dealing with sensitive data and understanding of Information Governance.
  • To have a full driving licence and access to a car
