Location: South East - Rochford and Castlepoint

Shift patterns: On Call Rota – (7am – 7pm and 7pm – 7am)

Salary: On-Call Flat Rate £46.00 per shift, and additional hourly rate of £10.50 per hour for call outs

The role:

We are growing our team of Response Services – Community Responders, who respond to our vulnerable customers in their own homes in the event of their pendant alarm being pressed.

Previous experience in the Care Industry is not essential, as a fully paid induction course and ‘shadow’ training will be provided to successful candidates.

As this is a 24/7 response service, rota’s will be allocated by on-call shifts. Each on-call shift will receive a flat rate minimum payment, and any callouts will be paid an additional hourly rate inclusive of travel time, of which mileage is also claimable at the standard rates.

ECL embraces flexible working and are interested in hearing from anyone who can commit to at least one On-Call Shift per week, which can be either the same shift each week or variable.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Being immediately available during an On-Call shift to travel to a vulnerable customers home
  • Lifting customers that have fallen, using specialist equipment (equipment and training provided)
  • Checking on customers that fail to respond to the telephone or intercom system, upon pressing their pendent alarm
  • Liaising with the Contact Centre to organise urgent care or specialist treatment if required
  • Providing a detailed handover of care to next of kin or emergency services if required
  • Completing all training (paid) as required to provide the highest quality of care

Key Responsibilities 

  • To ensure that customers remain safely independent in their own homes
  • To show commitment to the mental and physical wellbeing of our customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships and communication links with our customers, colleagues and other professionals, e.g. GP’s, District Nurses, Social Workers to ensure a comprehensive and versatile care provision

Key Requirements 

  • Driving license and use of personal vehicle for work purposes, insured for business use
  • Enhanced DBS Check (can be arranged through ECL if needed)
  • Complete a Care Certificate qualification through ECL during your probationary period (if not previously attained)
