Many of our customers have multiple and complex needs, therefore, to be considered as a PMLD Care Assistant, you need:

  • To be passionate about providing a high level of care and support to adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities and/or autism
  • Be willing to learn how to complete enteral feeding and medication, administer emergency and other medications and specialist moving and handling techniques using hoists and slings
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills, with a creative approach in supporting our customers to communicate
  • To possess an empathetic approach
  • To be willing to provide personal care
  • Basic IT skills
  • A proactive approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative
  • To be able to work flexibly depending on the needs of the work environment

Previous experience in the care industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

 Travel will be required across Essex to attend training and work in the community.
