Where and when do we need you?

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant HR Business Partner to work within our established, friendly HR Team. In this diverse role, you will play a key part in driving the people and culture strategy. You will support with projects and people focused initiatives and act as a point of contact on complex employee relations case work. You will provide detailed people reporting with analysis, to enable informed business decisions. You will be focused on people and experience, not process, and on output over input.

As part of our fantastic HR Function, you will be involved in:

  • Playing your part within our amazing charity - Proactively supporting the charity to achieve its business objectives by providing a professional, customer focused HR service to managers and employees across all elements of the employee life cycle.
  • Policy Development and Implementation - Input to the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and business objectives to ensure effective and fair management of staff throughout the business.
  • Exciting project work - researching and managing assigned HR initiatives and projects contributing to the overall people and cultural strategy of Fair Ways.
  • Delivering outstanding people processes and business improvement initiatives - Driving, influencing, advising and supporting the cultural and people aspects of organisational change
  • Providing dedicated guidance and support - Managing ER casework and providing administration support, advice and guidance on HR issues and employee relations matters in order to support the business in managing performance and associated risk.
  • Supporting our employee’s wellbeing – When required, you will play a core role in assisting our employees in returning to work and providing guidance, support and advice to managers so they can maintain a high level of welfare with their people.
  • Creation and Delivery of Coaching and Training - Supporting and providing technical advice to managers on all aspects of people management facilitating managers making impactful decisions. Being involved in the creation and preparation of training sessions in collaboration with the HR Business Partners supporting our organisational learning culture and the effective growth and development of the charity.
  • Effective HR Systems Management - Ensure Fair Ways HR Systems are maintained through accurate record keeping and providing information on staffing issues providing KPI's and other people metrics data to the HR Business partner and managers as timetabled.

This role is permanent, 22.5 hours per week worked flexibly between home, work sites and our central support office in Portsmouth, with Tuesday a fixed office day with the rest of the HR function (remaining working pattern to suit candidate).

This role would be subject to a fully enhanced DBS check that would be paid for by Fair Ways. You will need to have a driving license and use of a vehicle.

To support this, you will have the following:

 

Essential:

  • Proven administration and HR Experience including dealing with difficult and sensitive situations in a professional and people focused way.
  • Acquired sound knowledge of all aspects of employment law and experience of coaching managers in a wide range of people matters.
  • Experience in contributing to the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to seek out, manage and influence opportunities for continuous improvement and change.
  • Ability to work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and build morale.

 

Desirable:

  • Be a member of CIPD or acquired intermediate level qualification or equivalent (or working towards)
